Tammy the therapy dog

I have to say this is a dream come true for Me and a couple coworkers. Tammy went through training all summer to become a St. John's therapy dog. She had to meet a strict criteria of prerequisites in order to be able to be registered as a therapy dog.

For a few of us the inspiration came from the program see spot read , as well as an up and running program collaborated between the Winnipeg humane society and libraries.

Check out : http://www.schoolboardswork.ca/see_spot_read.html

Tammy comes into our classroom for one period every day 1. Her owner, Mrs. Beaumont is also a resource teacher at our school, brings Tammy in to visit us.
I'm not sure who is more excited - us or Tammy!

Here are some pcs of her first two visits.
She comes again this Wednesday. Fr our activity we will be learning a new sight word -LIKE. Students are asked to bring in some thing they like, and Tammy is going to bring some things she likes!!!
