Talking Tess

Our letterland character for the letter T is Talking Tess.  The kinders enjoyed singing her song - get them to share it with you at home -  we have turned it into a bit of a CHA -CHA. 

 

Talking Tess is busy on the telephone

you can hear the sound of chatter

 as she talks the time away

she might do a tap dance

or stand on tippy toes

or say the 10 times table just for you!

The kinders were also sent home with a talking Tess page in their bear books for the weekend to color and talk about with their families.

I have encouraged the kinders to have letter hunts when reading or being read to at home.   In class we have been hunting for letter A and letter T's in the books and poems that we read -  and have a center for "letter hunts".  This is really helping with the letter recognition - as well as helping them link the letter to its sound!
